FITNESS JOURNEY


“I can tell you work out” is a comment I frequently hear. I also run several times a week. On bad weather days, I use a stationary bike. I still have the energy to do my daily calisthenics. What many people don’t know is, I do it on a plant based lifestyle. I found this lifestyle works best for me. It is sustainable and provides me with the energy I need for hard training days.

What many people don’t know is, I do it on a plant based lifestyle. I found this lifestyle works best for me. It is sustainable and provides me with the energy I need for hard training days.

When I worked out on a meat-based lifestyle, my muscles were big (for my height) but I didn’t feel I had enough definition. It was similar to inflating a balloon. Yes, it looks larger but undefined. This isn’t true for everyone; it is what happened to me. When I look in the mirror, I see a strong yet more defined look to my body. Reducing body fat while maintaining my muscles was also very challenging before. I no longer have that issue. Plants contain enough protein to ensure I don’t lose those hard earned gains.

Being an older adult, especially a woman, presents its own unique challenges in getting gains. I have learned patience is the key. You can can’t expect to lose 10lbs as quickly as you did when you were younger. Also, if you have 15 or more to lose, it won’t happen in a few short weeks. The weight didn’t appear overnight so don’t expect to lose it overnight.


The main idea is keep yourself focused on your goal.
